i have a 2004 coachman Viking/clipper 1265 st classic. I can’t find any switch to use my battery instead of my 30 amp plug. Does anyone know where it’s located. I’ve checked under the sink and in the fuse box. Thanks

It should be automatic when you unplug from power.

What power center/converter do you have? The power center distributes 120vAC via breakers to the outlets and 12vDC via fuses to the lights etc.

When you are 'unplugged', 12v battery power enters and leaves via the fuses to the lights.

Welcome to the Portal from South Carolina. Suggest you drop by "Introduce Yourself" and let the members get to know you. Are you saying that none of your 12v stuff works? Battery charged?

When you are on battery your lights, water pump, furnace should automatically work. No separate switch. Assuming your battery is not dead. Electric outlet are only 110v only so will not work on battery.

Yes. When I’m unplugged nothing works. I charged the battery. I’ve been told there should be a switch somewhere to convert to 12v

Is there an in line fuse on the positive cable close to the battery?

    Do your 120v receptacles work?

look for bad fuses @ power center (unknown make/model), rev polarity & battery, also check fuse at batt +.
    confirm proper batt polarity.
    confirm batt - to frame

You have a fuse out, either in the converter, or near the battery, or you are hooked up backwards. If you have a multimeter you can do some more digging, but the connection between the battery and the 12V distribution in the converter is out.

2004 coachman clipper 1265 ST classic. I have checked all the fuses in the box in the fuse at the battery. The previous owner said he had never used the battery to run power.

The power center/converter MAKE/model? not the popup.
ie is it a WFCO 8712 or something else.
If you have a volt meter you can prob the battery and read the voltage. prob the 'other' side of the fuse for voltage, prob the frame (one prob on + one on frame) for voltage, probe the red and white wire at the back of the converter for voltage, ...

On my 2013 clipper 106, you have to make sure the kitchen sink/stove is flipped to the upright position in order for the the 12V battery to provide power to the lights/water pump/fan etc. There is a battery cutoff that activates when the kitchen is folded down in the travel position. I believe the only thing the battery powers when the kitchen is folded down is the carbon monoxide detector/alarm.

I have seen the light on to propane detector but I can’t get anything else to work. I have had the sink upright while trying it. Thanks. The camper is closed up right now. I’ll try it again when I open it up. Thanks.
