I still have a few exterior things to do...but getting closer to the interior for sure!
Have been reading this whole thread ... WOW is all I have
Okay, finally got the whole frame/undercarriage/wheel wells/ and wheel hubs done! Wheel wells and axle got a coat of rust reformer, then rubberized undercoating, then protective enamel top coat. Henry's finally back on his own two wheels!
Wow , brand new!
Henry's got back! He finally is getting a bottom in! Marine grade plywood isn't cheap. Big shout out to my neighbor for helping me get the plywood and getting it cut! Nothing is very square in this thing, so I will have some patching to do. I will also put some underpants on this dude (some kind of protective coating on the underside of the plywood). Can't go around with bare butt cheeks!
Getting closer to the finish line now!
I would leave the under pants off. It is normal not good to to have a vapor barrier on both side of any plywood (Vinyl flooring and underpants). If the wood get wet it need to be able to dry out.
Looks fabulous! I love the 60’s campers.
I'm absolutely flabbergasted....just read this entire thread for the first time, I can't hardly believe the dedication & attention to detail.....Kudos to you! Cannot wait to see the finished product!
Thank you so much!
Thank you! It turned into a much bigger project than I had originally anticipated, but we are making progress!
Looks great!! Hopefully you will be able to get out and enjoy soon!!
WW, I'm very impressed with your project! I've gone through a full rebuild with my 75 Viking and know many of the challenges you've encountered and overcome! Keep up the AWESOME work! I'm especially interested- I have a friend with a Westholt (they were made in Wichita KS) just like yours and he has approached me to help him rebuild it. I haven't seen his for 10 years or so, but my recollection is it's pretty much identical. I can't wait to see yours finished!!
I was checking old forums and remembered this for you. Not my post but a Westholt to compare to yours:

Thank you so much! I did turn into a MUCH bigger project than I anticipated, but I am having fun with the rebuild! You'll have to share your friends Westholt pictures if he agrees. I would love to see them!
Henry got his underpants on! As seen on TV!
Wow. Just saw this thread for the first time tonight. Wow. Great work. I’m a fan!
After three trips to Home Depot, two broken drill bits, 20 minutes working on one screw, and on the verge of tears, my wonderful neighbor came and saved me getting my sub-floor screwed down! I was ready to pay someone to do it; I was just not strong enough. Tried pre-drilling, using a little 3-in-one oil while drilling, but still wasn't managing. My neighbor 'man handled' it for me. Even he had trouble in spots though too!
Oh the fun stuff is beginning! French Blue! Henry, you looking like a good little glamper!
