I have had my camper for about 7 years and I have noticed over the past 2 years that the lift arms? not sure what they are called, are bending and causes the camper top to lean a little. I am afraid of some horrible accident of them breaking like in the middle of the night or something. Anyone know where I can get replacement parts for such and old camper, it is in such great shape otherwise and is so much bigger than new pop ups I hate to part with it.

It is a 1974 Puma Ski Tow

    Welcome to PUP satin36.

I also have a 1974 Puma. I am not having the problems with my arms right now but I hope you are able to find the parts you need. Maybe a junkyard or such would have some older popups around and you could get parts for it. Also, have you tried contacting a dealer in your area? I know they don't make the parts anymore but maybe they can tell you what you could use in place of PUMA parts. Is your lift a scissor lift or do you have to crank your PU up?

Good luck with your search and let us know how you make out.

If your Puma uses outside (scissor) lift arms similar to Palomino, you may be able to use or adapt those.

I doubt that you'll find parts specifically for Puma but the lift arms and parts are available from Palomino. They very well may have been from the same manufacturer originally.

    Dear ILUVTHEBEACH

It is exactly like yours I assume it is a scissor lift. You have to pull out the beds to get it to go up. Do you know the weight of this camper...I can't seem to find that info anywhere on mine.

    Thanks for everyones help

My title says it weighs 1000lbs. I don't have any information on it (no manuel or anything like that). I did however, win an ebay auction for a brochure on the PUMAs. Maybe I will scan it in and email it to you. I don't think it had any valuable information but it was kinda cool to find something on it.

I am originally from WV and go back every Thanksgiving to visit (Buckhannon-French Creek area). What part of WV do you live in?

I am from the Ohio Valley Area. We camp mostly within 30-60 miles away. I don't have to be a 100 miles away to feel like I am getting away. I love the updates that you did to your camper, the floors and the white paint does wonders. I was out last night repairing some seams in the canvas and spraying on the waterproofer getting ready for Memorial day weekend. Thanks!!

The best thing about camping is the campfire cooking!!
