    Very nice! I'll be starting my own roof rebuild soon as well.

    Do you plan on changing anything with the roof layout?

    Outside of making it stronger to support a kayak, a/c, etc. I was not planning on any mods but you never know.

    I plan on adding recessed lighting to mine. Adding about a 4" space to the inner ceiling.

    @DFire2 I am also going to build it taller so we can have a regular mattress and some overhead shelf's.

    My current roof is about 6" height, going to extend that to 10" using 1x10 12' boards.

    That sounds great, I like the recessed lighting and the regular mattress idea. What are you using for the sides? I used 5/8 inch furniture grade ply that I ripped to the 6 inches. Also, are you worried about the weight of the mattress on the slide?

    I am doing the regular mattress and I haven't even considered the weight of the matt. I use a king futon matt now that is not very light without any trouble. I will know more when I get into the build.
