    I just brought home my new to me pup. The previous owner was of little help teaching me what everything on it does (it was raining). The awning really has me puzzled. He stated that it didn't have any poles with it when he bought it, I figured no big deal, I'll just shoot down to Wal-Mart and buy some. BUT, I can't figure out how it's supposed to go up. There are no holes/grommets for poles to go into. Does anybody have any idea how this thing works? The outside grey water drain has me perplexed also. The diameter of the drain is about 1.5 inches and threaded. How am I supposed to get this reduced to a garden hose size to fit my portable waste water tank?

    As to the greywater drain, you should have a screw on adaptor that will also have threads for a garden hose. If not you can get the adaptor at Camping world or most rv dealerships.

    Hopefully someone who has a Utah will chime in with info on the awning. I've got a Niagara with 4 ridgepoles and three attached support legs (attached to the outer frame of the awning). At first I wasn't aware of the legs as they were in the frame....

    Well.... Lets see if I can help...

    On the awning depending on the size you should have two or three rafter poles and two or three poles attached to the end of the awning to go to the ground.

    <img src="http://www.buyastrostuff.com/ftp/Rays/camper/P8020204.jpg" border=0>

    The rafters go from a fabric loop on the underside of the awning against the roof and the other end goes into the metal bar at the edge. Depending on the size you should have two or three rafters.

    On the outer edge of the awning you should have two or three poles that are attached by a pin to the metal beam. These are the support legs. If you are missing these you can substitute them with telescoping painters pole.

    If you look at the picture above, the left side one is stock and the right side one is using painter poles as a substitute.

    On the grey water drain Take a look here.

    Hope this helps out. If you need more pictures, I can get em it will just take me a bit more time. (i folded it up aready)

    My 2 drains were on the same side of the camper when I thought it better to combine them. There are PVC adapters available to get from the 1 1/2" to 3/4", but I went to pipe instead. The 1" size was a compromise in my case.

    The hose drain goes to a 1" pipe, down to the 1 1/2" shower drain, and into more fittings to go to my gray tanks for collection. Those fittings and how they are set up depend on the terrain at each campsite. Here's a Pic.

    I can also run a sump pump hose to the sites sewer drain when at such a spot. I have an adapter for that too in my mix of stuff.

    If you have the bag style awning, then Ray's answer covers that operation pretty well. <img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Smile">

    Here some more pictures

    Here is the loop that the rafter fits into

    <img src="http://www.buyastrostuff.com/ftp/Rays/camper/P8030205.jpg" border=0>

    Here is what the rafters look like.

    <img src="http://www.buyastrostuff.com/ftp/Rays/camper/P8030206.jpg" border=0>

    Here are the down poles attached to the edge beam on the awning.

    <img src="http://www.buyastrostuff.com/ftp/Rays/camper/P8030207.jpg" border=0>

    This is how the rafter fits in the loop.

    <img src="http://www.buyastrostuff.com/ftp/Rays/camper/P8030208.jpg" border=0>

    This is how they fit in the metal edge beam.

    Hope that explains it a bit better...

    WOW, I'm missing a whole lot more than just a few poles!!! There is none of that with the awning, or trailer. I'm wondering now if it's going to be real expensive to get all the missing pieces, if maybe a few added grommet holes and some poles might suffice? It seems to me that this may be the best option. Any risks in doing this? Thanks so much for all the pics and advice. As for the gray water drain, I went to Camping World today and the not so helpful staff there had no idea what I was talking about and referred me to the Service Dept. that comes in tomorrow! I'll try the local dealer in the morning, but looks like a trip to Lowe's may be in order, I really like the vent idea. Thanks again for all the help.

    Hey Ray....Is the picture above the way you usually use the guy ropes for your awnings....running 'em back to the camper? Do they actually hold up okay like that?

    Hi Carl

    I only do that if I don't have a way to tie them to the ground. It does work, but I don't like the chance of "cloths lining" myself...<img src=../Images/icons/icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle alt="Dead">

    Hi Dan

    Camping world can be a challenge at times. I've found if I go there not to ask them anything about a PUP. Cause All you get is a blank stare back.

    Anyway, Post a picture of what you have. And maybe some of us will have an Idea or two.

    grcooperjr,

    Dude! Thank you so much for posting those photos. I've got all those stinking poles and I never knew what the h*ll to do with them! I've just been guying down the awning super tight and not using the rafters. That makes PERFECT sense to me now.

    Seriously, thanks!
