Re: TX Rally...all info in one thread, schedule included

I am ready for another rally soon. Cold weather camping is my favorite. What about Enchanted Rock? I haven't been there yet so I don't know the details. I'm going to be at Lake Sommerville this weekend. Let's do this!!!!

I'm good with whatever the group decides. The above campground looks good. I'm not sure if we can work out state parks due to their reservation system, but Huntsville SP is nice. I also like Inks Lake, Ft Parker, and Dinosaur Valley. Enchanted Rock is great but only has tent camping.

Another option is Cagle Recreation Area in the Sam Houston National Forest. There you can reserve specific sites so you can ensure the group is all together if they reserve quickly, but it might be harder for last minute newbies to get a site with the group. I think it is $20 a night with full-service hookups, restrooms, sinks, and hot showers.

Just tossing out some ideas - we're very flexible.

I started another thread regarding the next rally in the rallies being planned section. Indy you guys are right, the SPs won't really work well with group camping, and no guarantees on the group being together. And I would LOOOOOVE enchanted rock, but again indy is correct, tent camping only....booo!!! Lets pick this up on the other thread.
