Thanks! My kids are older now, thank goodness. My 18 year old (and boyfriend) don't join us as often as we'd like. They're both in college and work full time hours at part time jobs. My 15 year old son prefers to be with the adults, and my 8 year old daughter does her own thing quite well. Having older siblings, she's quite mature. We often forget she's "only 8" when she acts her age (meltdowns, cries, etc.).
But, the smoker/grill! Now you're talking! My son would likely be by your side Txbum! He's assisted a friend in a few cookoffs and has been bitten by the bug!
Something up north would be great! Texas is so big I'm sure no matter where the rallies are, someone is going to have to drive hours.
Planning is difficult for us. The company my hubby works for makes them plan their vacations in October/November for the next year. That's it, they're set in stone. Bleh.

Mama Llama, hear you on the vacations schedule same for me...way in advance. It is difficult ,my spouse keeps the books for a hospital and the e.o.m ( end of month) & first few days of new month is always a no no for camping. Tell your boy come on over, we can smoke a brisket, sausages, onions, ribs, chicken for the pot luck. While the brisket is smoking Skeeter will be painting his teardrop camo designs...I can just see it lil pup up campers all over in green, desert tans, dark brown....right Skeeter? [}:)]

I could only dream of such a day Richard! On towing the teardrop back I'm sure I can work that out. My sister will be joining us with my nephew. I might be able to convince her to borrow my other sisters jeep and bring the teardrop back! If it'll be done by then I'd say you're a busy little bee!

Hmmmm...if you're confident enough sure! I won't argue! I may just let the kids at the rally paint it for fun.

Kool a paint party!!!....Ryanincc if you go to the Lake Limestone Rally thread and click on my PUP photo it will take to to a album...in the album way in the last pages are some early photos of a tear drop being built. Skeeter's teardrop is at that stage...he will use it for shelter during hunting season. It will be basic..insulated, wired 12vdc / 110 vac..a roof vent., bout it. I didn't have the time to finish it out like a fancy teardrop. But for hunting it will keep you warm and dry. Txbum

Hey guys! I am back (did ya miss me?). It's been a crazy year; I can't believe it's almost mid-April! I've been inundated but I am coming up for air now and getting everything back on track. I thought at first I might have to bow out of this one and told Ryan so, but I do hope to attend now. Still can't say for sure since we are planning a big road trip to Pennsylvania this summer and dh will most likely teach summer school (new school district) so the calendar is tight.

On a positive note, I plan to be completely done with my interior PUP makeover by then so if we can attend, y'all get to view our real pop up! No falling bunks here, lol.

    Just wanted to say hi!

Awesome, Wendy! I SINCERELY hope I can snoop around your pup in June.

Love to hear the story of the falling bunks [LOL] or was it you IIRC that had borrowed a pup that had troubles at the last rally, or the one before?

New here, but we'd love to attend the rally! We have a 13 year old and a 10 year old. Any advice on what site to reserve? We've only been to Canyon Lake one time.

    Thanks!

Ack! Why does Texas have to be so big? We'd totally bring our boat but it's too far and we only have 1 vehicle worthy of towing. Ppplllbbbttthhhh
