What times are the Meet & Greet on Friday and the Pot Luck on Saturday?
Can you please add one adult to my total? DH has been able to get off from work.
Great!!I'm glad he can come!made the change!
Thanks! Me too!
For clarification, can you please tell me about Friday and Saturday evening meals?
Are we supposed to bring a side for Friday?
The Saturday potluck I understand.
For the dessert competition, are there rules? For example, I'm planning on making my dessert at home, and bringing it with me. I would not want it to be considered should there be rules about it being made at the campground.
Friday night, If people want to bring a side they can but don't go to any pain for it,relaxing Meet and Greet.
On Saturday, for dessert competition as long as you made it and it and it doesn't have a little white tag with plastic on top it's in!
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Not too much longer now...Happy dancin'!
What can I expect for bugs up your way? Just the mosquito's? And as long as they are smaller than the ones up here (usually about the size of a small bird LOL) we'll be fine I'm guessing.
Only 15 days away! I am really looking forward to meeting everybody and making new camping freinds! And I hope you guys are too!
Well, last time I was there, Greenbrier was not too buggy. (We do have smaller mosquitoes).
...and stink bugs! But they're not at their peak. They hit peak in the fall.

Yep, stinkbugs are the worst in the fall when they are looking for a place to winter, though I have not been too bothered by them the last few years.
Think they traveled to NE Ohio!
Things to do at Greenbrier state park besides swimming in the lake.
Go to the Maryland state park web site for greenbrier. On the left hand side of the page is a section titled Greenbrier State Park Links. In those links is listed Explore South Mountain Recreation Area Guide. The link will take you to a wonderful publication of things to do if this link does not work: Media.dhweb.com/cvb/smra14
There are two hikes listed that go along the Appalachian Trail that are easy access from the park. The AT can be accessed from a parking lot about 1/4 of a mile from the parks main gate. Go north to Annapolis Rock or go south to the Washington Monument. Both are moderate difficulty trails with the first being a 4.4 mile round trip and the second is a 6 mile round trip. Please see the link for other items of interest.
Also, Harpers Ferry, Antietam National Battlefield and the C&O Canal are about 30 minutes away.
Less than 10 days and the cedar loop is full!!
We're really looking forward to this! It'll be nice to finally put faces to the screen names.
Slight change for us. I was looking at our schedule, and we decided to tack on an extra night, so we'll be leaving Monday instead of Sunday. No one here could say no to an extra day of fun in the sun!
Sounds like we are going to have a great rally. Can't wait to meet all the new people and old friends.
Looking forward to seeing new faces & a new park for us. I finally got around to washing the trailer the other day, so it doesn't look so grungy anymore. Last fall, I did the rubber roof but never got around to washing the drippings off the sides of the trailer. Then, in January, our snow covered site, which we thought had a paved pad underneath, actually was a red clay type of dirt which turned into a red mudpit when we had a major thaw the next day. So, between the black dripping down from the top & the redddish mud splashed up from the bottom, Big Pal has not looked so great on any of our trips so far this year
Now, I just need to decide on a potluck dish...
