Well we had a blast on our +3 week camping road trip. It ended up being 23 days, 6,300 miles, 5,800 miles towed, 13 states, camped in 7, 3 hotels, and many friends and family visited.

We hit some strong weather while on the road camping, and at my dads in MN, no damage or me (my dads van suffered a shattered window).

Our first stop was at the Sequoia National Forrest Camp 2, pre-rally. We had a blast and I heard about the fun times after we left!!

I will update this post as I have time and will add pictures, I will try to keep the posts in order!!

Just after leaving the Sequoia NF CG my breaks failed abruptly. Pedal almost to the floor and the e-brake almost no help.

Turns out the right rear brake shoes came apart. I cleaned and adjusted the brakes a few days before the trip and it all looked good.

No cell service, so I limped it at 5mph to a road side resort and used their phone. USAA sent a flat bed to haul the car and tow the pup. The driver did not have a wrench to tighten the ball to his truck nor an 7 pin to 4 pin adapter. He attempted to use a regular pliar. Luckily I had a large crescent wrench in the car. I requested USAA to tow me to a parts store so I could fix the car myself vs pay out the rear at a shop on a Friday evening. They towed us about an hour past multiple shops to an Oreilies, $26 later I had new brake shoes and hardware. I also ripped the wire plug raising the hitch for the toe tuck, another 20 minutes that was put back together...

    Continued up the 99

Stop 2 was at my cousins in Mercede CA

Stop 3 Made it to the i80 and stayed at a hotel in Battle Mtn NV

Stop 5, Twin Buttes Lake, 15 miles south of Laramie WY, FREE camping! This was July 4th, and we seen about 2 hours of fireworks!!! It was absolutely perfect, not another person in sight once the 1 fam a ways away left. There were no bugs until the wind died down and then OMG the absolute most bugs I have ever seen (I am from MN where the low spots in a road are not always foggy but a cloud of mosquitoes). Went to bed and then had insane winds and rain, 50mph from what I could find online, luckily for me I can setup with the pup hitched to the car and the car was pointed into the wind. I was very close to taking cover in the pit toilet.

It was Patricks birthday and their daughter made him a wonderful birthday cake!! Awesome camp driveway!!

It was. We stopped at CA Hot Springs Resort to use their phone, parked up the road at the post office. Yes I consider myself very lucky...

Awesome. We recently got back from our 17 day trip. A quick little synopsis of the trip. Went up the Gate Way Arch. Stayed 3 days in Wisconsin Dells. 2 days in Michigan's upper peninsula (prob best park) Mackinac island was super cool. 3 nights in Hocking Hills, Ohio, a couple of nights in Indiana, Clifty Falls SP, Mammoth Cave Kentucky, and a couple of nights in Hot Springs Arkansas. All in all a fun trip. 4000 miles, all nights camped. This is our 2nd summer with our PUP. We're becoming pro's. Haha, yeah right. [IMG]

Stock car races "Where the big boys do it in the dirt"!! Same as I remember it as a kid, Patrick likes it as long has he has his ear muffs on, he doesn't like load noises!
