Oh dear! It looks like ours will be the only kids! Yikes! My boys better be on their best behavior
Do not worry-I am sure some of us juvenile adults can get in the game
I really know that this is going to be a great rally! So if you have any suggestions for the rally please PM me. suggestions can only make the rallies better
JeepMama....no fear....our 11 year old boy will also be in tow with us. We'll just send them all off together to get in trouble.
thank goodness... see you in June
Well Campers, I am very happy to say that the North East Loop is full for our week end rally Most are campers from portal!
Over 2 months away, I look forward to seeing everybody without Jack Frost having a campsite, he said he was headed to a nice campsite north and would not be back for a while.
Way cool!! We are looking forward to the rally and meeting all of you
Re: 2016 Maryland Rally TOLLS
Coming into Cecil County from the South and towing a trailer.
Will cost you $16.00 on I-95 or Rt. 40 for a 1 axle trailer.
This is a Northbound only toll at the Susquehanna River.
To avoid this you can come the scenic route over the Conowingo Dam. Yes, you drive on the dam!
From I-95 in Harford County, take Route 24 North from Edgewood to Route 1 North (not Business rt 1).
Stay on Rt 1 thru Harford, over the dam and into Cecil Co. After a few (4-5) miles Route 273 will fork off on the Right towards Rising Sun. Take rt. 273 through town.
After you get out of town a few miles you will come to a red light at Route 272.
Turn Right onto 272 South and stay on this until you come to Elk Neck State Park on your Left.
It is about 20 miles and you will drive past the covered bridge, over I-95, cross Route 40 and go thru the town of NorthEast. (Food Lion grocery on right just after 40.)
Rt 24 N
Rt 1 N
Rt 273 E Telegraph Rd.
Rt 272 S North East Rd.
For those coming to the rally before the weekend, here is a great FREE activity: The Herr's Factory Tour probably a 30 minute drive from Elk Neck SP. http://www.herrs.com/SnackFactoryTours.html
They give you a taste of the chips right off the production line - yummy, delicious hot potato chips!!!!
That is a great tour!!
And it is right next to Route 1.
I love just about anything that's "free",
We'll have to check that out. Thanks for the info.
We love factory tours!! & free is even better!!!
Reserved our factory tour for 2 PM on Thursday!!
Spring finally seems to have chased old man winter out of here, the campgrounds are opening up and the Maryland rally is now about 6 weeks away!! and will be here before ya know it
Attendees should start thinking about the pot luck on Saturday and what you like to bring.
when ya decide, post it here and will add it to the list.
This is going to be another great gathering!!
On Friday, I had my snow tires taken off. One would think that It would be safe to do so on April 22nd. Apparently not. It is currently snowing in Muskoka and doesn't seem about to stop. Our seasonal temperature for this time of year is usually about 15°C (60°F).
LET ME OUT OF THIS SNOW GLOBE! (Please pardon the shouting.)
LOL, you may need to move.....the azaleas are in full bloom here right now and the weather has been downright wonderful, high temps in the 70s and 80s (in Fahrenheit that is for you neighbors up north).....
Now that I'm retired, I am so tempted to move to a warmer climate. But I love my house. And I love Muskoka--most of the year. I would love to have azaleas but they're not hardy here. This is been such a late spring for us. My daffodils are only up about 2 inches and now they're covered in snow.
I'm doing a reno on the used tent trailer that I bought in the fall. I ripped out the cupboards and flooring. I need warmer temperatures before I can lay in the new flooring. According to the weather network, I'm going to have to wait a couple of weeks. Sigh...
I feel your pain Down here in Maine, it is snowing this morning then will switch to rain. Can't even uncover the camper yet argggh Can't wait to see what the weather is like Memorial Day weekend (our first trip of the year). Worst still, we just got back from flying down to Va Beach, VA for 4 days to visit the son, and everything was green in VA but returned to the browns of New england
Or become one of the many snowbirds. our daffodils are done blooming. We may not have much left flower wise for the rally.......but the upside maybe the pollen counts should be reduced by then.
The reno sounds like you have a bit of work but should end up with a nice pup. Is this your camper or a retirement project?
Thanks for the support, Dave!
I'm planning on my first trip to Algonquin Park for a couple of nights the 3rd week of May. They've had to delay opening some of the campgrounds due to the late arrival of spring. It's only about 45 min from my place, but their thaw is about 2weeks behind us because they are at a higher elevation. This will be my 'dry run' in my new-to-me Popup.
Looking forward to meeting you, Deb and Gunner.
