Here are the coordinates for Fish Creek. It states road may not be suitable for low clearance vehicles. I would hate for anybody to get stuck.

    Coordinates: 33.036297, -116.106949
    Nearest City/Town: Borrego Springs, California
    Elevation: 280 Feet
    Location: San Diego County, California
    Paved Road Access: None
Proximity to Stores: 27 Miles to Borrego Springs, CA
    Directions:
From Borrego Springs, head towards CA Route 78 East and drive 6.6 miles to Ocotillo Wells in Ocotillo Wells SVRA. Turn south on Split Mountain Road. About 8 miles from Route 78, and 2 1/4 miles past the Elephant Tree Trail Area, the pavement comes to and end. Turn right on a dirt road up the center of a sandy wash. Road conditions may vary, but the route is typically not entirely suitable for low clearance vehicles. After 1.4 miles, you will see the turnoff for Fish Creek Campground.

Wind cave Trailhead address: Fish Creek Wash, Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Borrego Springs, CA 92004
    Trailhead coordinates: 32.991103, -116.112556 (32° 59′ 27.97″N 116° 06′ 45.20″W)

I've been in Jury Duty for 2 weeks and then have to make up time at work. I still plan on attending this Rally but I'm afraid I will not be an effective wagon master. I am also having a minor issue with my camper and may have to bring her in for repair. I worry that fish creek may be too remote for some, but that brings up back to square one.
This is the official thread for the Rally. The other thread was just for polling purposes, but there weren't that many votes. So far, here are the people who I think are interested:

    Camp freak
    Camp Addict
    Chockochock

Anyone else? And we need to decide on a place that everyone is comfortable driving too and setting up camp

    I wouldn't mind crashing your party [:D]

I searched "Fish Creek Primitive Campground" on Google Maps and this looks like the spot you're talking about.

What about Borrego Palm Canyon Campground? It got great reviews, and we could day trip to the wind caves.

There should be enough recovery straps to ensure that! [emoji1]

Anyone else? Can we just do the potluck list on this thread rather than starting a new thread? I will bring a pie.

[LOL] [LOL] [LOL] Yes it does ChocoChock01. Maybe I can break it in on Sandstone Canyon.

Robin, count me in. 2 adults, 2 boys. I'll be in late Friday evening and plan on leaving Monday. Thinking some Chicken, Sausage, & Shrimp Jambalaya for the potluck... You guys ok with little spicy?
