We can't leave until at least 1:00. I'm thinkin we will be there around 4 or 5.
We are going to make dutch oven cornbread, and maybe a dessert.

I'm packed up and ready to go. My camper is in the shop, so hopefully they will be done by 10am and I'll head out straight from there. Worst case is I leave @ noon and arrive @ 2:30.

We had a great time. That is, until the left wheel leaf spring broke on the trailer. Luckily we were right at the intersection of Split Mountain Road and Highway 78. The off road mechanic shop right there has our trailer and will fix it this week. He says he fixes broken springs "all the time." We get to drive back there next week to pick up the trailer.

I'll post some pix from the campout later. It's been a long day. We didn't get home until 5:00pm. Good to see everyone.

So sorry to hear about your trailer Spring. I think off roading was fun but definitely wreaks some havoc on our vehicles. If you are back up there next week though, you might as well make another camping weekend out of it

We returned to Ocotillo Wells Saturday afternoon and retrieved out trailer from the repair shop. We took Gardenbliss's advice and booked one night at Borrego Palm Canyon campground. After the rigor of Fish Creek and the stress of rushing to the mechanic's shop before he closed, staying the night was the best course of action. We indulged in a full hookup site. I could get used to that!

The mechanic replaced both leaf springs and the trailer rides very nicely now. We kept the one old spirng that wasn't broken as a "spare." Much appreciation to Tony at Muy Rapido Racing in Ocotillo Wells for the friendly service. (Located at the corner of Highway 78 and Split Mountain Road.)
