Strawhouse, you have a very nice site (not just because it is between Shelmily and I [LOL]) it looks right the down the confluence of two rivers with fall foliage (hopefully weather permitting) on either side on the hills. Sites are grassy, no electric, so bring an extra battery if you are going to use your heater in your camper (if you have one).

Thanks for the welcome! Looking forward to meeting you.
I haven't camped in a Popup since I was about 10, and a lot has changed since then. Looking forward to any and all advice that you can offer.

Thanks, Davylee, for suggestion re the battery. I have gone winter camping in a tent at -30C, but I'm getting a little old for that.

I have been following the posts for the various US rallies I'm going to, so I DO know to bring a can opener. Although I'm tempted to hide it! :) :) :)

Welcome to the North loop Strawhouse ! Everyone staying there is very helpful.... if you need anything, just ask. Shelmily always travels with about a half dozen can openers, so no problem if you forget yours. I will have my little Honda with me, just in case. If you need to plug in for awhile on Sat. to juice up your battery, you are more than welcome to.

    Thanks, Ductape!
I might even bring a can or two of chili. You never know who might need one... [;)] [;)] [;)]

Seriously, what is better than a steaming bowl of chili on a cool day! :)

Just be prepared Strawhouse. You have to be able to take as much or more than you dish out. Staying in the North loop has is advantages, it is a beautiful area, but you have to deal with all us crazy people too. Fortunately you are signed up for the PA rally as well, and a lot of those people are the crazies in the North loop at Vermont so you will have time to get used to us. [LOL] [LOL] [LOL]

    Hey shelmily!
Oh, yes, I have frequently come across these names on the posts and have chuckled at the on-going banter. No fear, I have do have a thick skin and can dish it too. I can't wait for my first trip south. Linking Maryland & PA rallies. It's about a 12 hour drive for me, so I'm planning for a layover day in each direction.

Just a bump for all to see, now that people are in the full swing of camping. There are still plenty of sites still avaliable, including electric sites for this beautiful weekend of Vermont's foliage. What are you waiting for? You know fall camping has less crowds and bugs!
See you around a pot of Chili!

Welcome jhayesvt! You are going to have a great time. As Davylee said, it's a great group of people, and the campground is one of our favorites, both loops are very nice, but I am partial to the north loop myself.

Alright, I am impressed Chris, but the heck with the smoke, you are only going to be able to use it during generator hours running those open headers, and even that is questionable. [:D]

I love the pictures of Duncan as a puppy what a little fuzzball.
