2017 Forest River High Wall HW 296 Roof Side Q

Hi,

I am contemplating repairing one whole roof side of my camper myself due to a water damage incident that is pulling one corner in where the lift arm is. It is getting worse so I have to take care of it.

1.When I need to detach the roof supporting arms from the roof how would I go about doing that? Do I just prop a 2 x 4 in each section and crank the system down enough until the arms hang then remove or am I totally wrong. I have a 2660 Goshen power lift system.

2. Also what is a fair estimate to expect if I have it repaired by a dealer? I am weighing my options at this point and I appreciate any guidance.

Hi back, I just looked at a 2011 version of your pop up and found that all four corners of the roof were 'open' I assume that the roof needs exploratory surgery. The rig was for sale, and I walked away but now that I have thought about it I may buy it if can for a fire sale price and fix it. I am just getting to know pop ups. Can you say what happened to your situation?
