Well it's about that time guys. This year we really want your input so if you know of a Maryland state park that we should have a rally at this year make a comment. We will probably have the rally about the same time so not to interfere with other rally. If you know of a good private camp ground let us know that as well

Since I likely won't be there, my vote doesn't count. Even so, as a MD native, I had to put in my [2C]. [:D]

Rocky Gap is my favorite MD state park. I also used to love Shad Landing, but it's been so long since I've been to that one, it's hard to tell if it looks anything like my memories.

Ok guys,we have been in the north and central Maryland for the last two rallies.I am proposing that we go south next year to Point Lookout State Park. The Green point loop is pet and electric. The dates are between June 9-11 [CP]

Any suggestions or concerns post or PM me

    Thanks Guys [:D]

Never been there so I read reviews. Most mention tics, mosquitoes, and bugs. Anyone have experience there? We have a 7 hour drive, not a problem but tics and mosquitoes are a concern. The reviews other than bugs seem good. Pics look good also.

I have not been there in a couple of years but from what I can remember about the bugs are manageable in April-June but you might not be comfortable mid-July August

also from what I can remember the Greens Point loop is fairly open sometimes nice cool breezes and close to the water, The Tulip loop(full hook-up)had a lot of underbrush you defiantly want to have AC when you camp in that loop in the summer.

I like the idea of Point Lookout State Park... [:D]...it helps that I'm just up the road from it.

I don't know if I'll be able to make it, but Assateague Island holds a special
Place in my heart. There's a state and federal campground... the state campground has more electric sites, as well as hot water showers. Due to my job, I couldn't do much camping his year... I'm really bummed that I never made it out to the ocean at all I 2016. That's my vote.

ok, getting the ball rolling - I have booked site 97 (green loop) arriving on Thursday June 8, 2017 at Point Lookout State Park.
Maryland Rally: June 9 - 11 2017 at Point Lookout State Park

Mcbrew - Assateague state park is a nice thought - but it is hard (read impossible) to get an electric site.....for a weekend, I can do with out water hook up, without sewer hook up.... but I do want my power hook up. I always end up in Chincoteague when I go to the beach... Hope you may be able to make it to Point Lookout - at least you can gaze at water or fish.

FWIW, I am a local near this campground, about 40 miles out. Down here in southern Maryland we do a fair bit of driving what ever we do. If we here in Calvert need anything more than what the local WalMart (not a superstore) or grocery store has to offer, we drive south (23 miles) to California/Lexington Park, or north (32 miles) to Annapolis, or west (22 miles) to Waldorf.

If you have any questions about the area, I'll do my best to answer them for you.
