Whooops ..... haven't looked at that thread too much recently..
I can bring apple pie and whip cream. Don't worry Wrench...lots of garlic! We will be using Snow's site as home base for the day. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Still two sites available (1 & 10) if anybody else would like to join.
Not this year....maybe next!
Less than 2 weeks now!! Can't wait!! Looking forward to meeting everyone.
Really hope this weather sticks around...
Highly unlikely. Glad we have heated mattresses and a good furnace...
Looks like lows around 10, highs around 15, according to The Weather Network. Not too bad.
We had lows of 10 during the first week of August. The furnace was roaring all night long for those 2 weeks. Then a couple of weeks ago, Stevie and me got stuck sleeping in an unheated screened porch during a guys week long fishing trip just north of Sharbot lake. The nights went down to 7-8. Those nights were getting chilly with no heat.
We may be able to make it over to the rally on Sunday afternoon, but I can't say for sure. We'll use Snow's site as ground zero if we make it. If we come, we'll bring something for the potluck, but don't make any extra for us, we'll just pick at the leftovers.
Due to very unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances we will be cancelling our site for Thanksgiving weekend :'(
We will still make the trip up for the potluck on Sunday.
Anyone bringing a canoe/kayak? I think I'll throw my kayak on. It looks like rain for Sat, but Sun looks promising.
Don't own one ...yet...
Well, Saturday looks kinda damp, but hopefully it won't dampen our spirits. My pumpkin pies are cooling on the rack, soon to go into the fridge. I'll be bringing my guitar, and we also have various games like backgammon, Trivial Pursuit, and, of course, cards. Lots of reading material as well. Looking forward to a fun, relaxing weekend!
Rain is better then some of the weather we have had over past Thanksgiving camping trips...
I'm hoping to arrive early afternoon. . We'll see how well setup goes with just myself and dogs... wife and DS2 will be along on Saturday night (maybe early Sunday morning ) and DS1 and his GF sometime before potluck on Sunday..
On our way. QEW near St. Catharines. Hope to get there before dark.
Got in around 5 yesterday afternoon. We were set up by 6:15. Here's a view from our trailer window:
Crazy wind! First time in 50 nights of camping that I've really appreciated my high-wind kit!
I've heard some banging from other sites. Sure hope everyone closed their awnings!
Not much point trying to sleep... back to
3am we decided to pull the awning in had to relocate all the stuff under it that was trying to stay dry as well!
Glad we put the awning down after supper. Pleased at how well the pup handled the weather. We stayed warm and dry all night. But yeah, that wind and rain was amazing!!
