I myself am very lucky as where I live will experience 2:39 of totality vs 2:40 for best location. I can sit in my backyard to watch it!!

Holy cow, didn't realize this thread was already 2 years old. Was thinking it was still pretty far off.

I'm bummed that it's not coming anywhere close to MN.

I'm trying to figure something out...just got to get to southern IL for the GD! Just south of Carbondale.

Surprised there isn't something from the folks in the SE I think it goes super close to Augusta GA and/or Aiken SC

I bought some the last time - now to find that slim envelope in its "safe" place.

We have a tentative plan with friends to meet for the eclipse, that husband already has the entire month booked as vacation. They have a line on a place to camp, if that doesn't pan out, we'll go to plans B & C. If nothing else, we think we'll camp in the vicinity and drive to the line of totality.

That's the likely plan. DH wants an excuse to go back to the Wind River Mtns. Gros Vente CG in Teton NP is on the line of totality, but we're not sure how bad the FCFS situation will be. When we've camped there before it was not difficult to find a site, so it may depend on how many eclipse-watchers head there. Our friends have found a CG in ID that's possible, too.
