Looks like there is no site# for me to reserve now. I'll come back to check again next time.

I'm leaning towards making a whirlwind solo trip in the Tacoma for the eclipse. My better half isn't too interested, so making it as fast as possible and just sleeping either in the back of the truck or using my backpacking tent makes more sense.

I'm looking at driving to the area around Casper, Wyoming. Casper is pretty much right in the centerline of totality, and will have about two and a half minutes of darkness.

11 of the 18 responding requested boondocking.

    definitely a majority.

The problem w boondocking is it is a first come first serve.

When trying to set this up 4 yrs. ahead of time .... well have at it...

Those who want to boondock, there are many NP in the line of totality.

We cannot coordinate a group doing that.

Catfish Junction fit much of the criteria we were looking for such as East of the Cascades for visibility!!!
And they opened up reservations ahead of time for PopUpPortal rally.

That is worth supporting as well as knowing you will have a place to camp.

They have Full Hook ups, Partial and tent or open camping.

Covers it all, at a small price.

Great to have you join this extraterrestrial event.
Catfish Junction was able to accommodate all the camping request as well as a expanding group.
    AND nice people.

Hi, fellow campers! We cannot make it this time--no campsite is one of the excuses. See you guys next time. Have fun!

Ben call them if the on line availability does not show you anything available. The on line systems are sometimes not updated or current. I have also found that there is a threshold for on line reservations that do not reflect what is available by calling.

After several times online and on phone asking for campsite with no luck - we decided to by pass the event, and move our camping trip destination to Crater 2 day - Redwood 7 day - Yosemite 4 day. Meanwhile, we had already made most our reservations, and cannot come back.

spoke with Judy Silva and she says the website will show there are no available site when they get to the last six. They currently have 4 sites H/U left, but plenty of Dry Camping sites.

Call and leave a message and call back number and tell them you are with the PopUpPortal group, she is keeping a separate list.
