We stayed there a couple years ago on May 24 weekend and the showers were open. Also a few people were camping in that area.
All righty, with the excitement of the last couple weeks out of the way, it is time to revive this and the other threads.
Fingers crossed for all of you that they get McRae open sooner than later......estimated opening at this time is May 18th
Just a bit of an update for anyone sitting on the fence about attending.. There is one first-come-first-served non-reserveable electric sit left in the South Campground Loop. 10 reserveable non-electric sites and 10 first-come-first-served non-reserveable non-electric sites in the South Campground.. As of right now there is a planned potluck breakfast/brunch planned for the Sunday morning.. Weather has changed the last couple days, but not bad for the weekend..
We are really looking forward to getting away! It's coming at a good time...not sure I really care if I sit in the rain and read. Maybe get some cards going too.
If it rains early Saturday can always try and pull in a tv station and watch Harry and Meagan get married.. Hmmm could always try campground xbox too ...
I'd like to hit Mariposa Market....maybe Farmers Market. Kids had an interest in seeing the OPP Museum. Maybe walk around downtown Orillia a bit.
I shop a lot at TSC, but watch your receipt when you leave. Sometimes things will be on sale in the flyer, or on the shelf, but the price didn't get changed in the cash register. They charge you full price without anyone knowing. It happened again to me just last week on a can of black tremclad paint. She over charged me by about $3.50 + the taxes on it. They also don't observe the SCOP (Scanning Code Of Practice) rules, (SCOP does not apply when a store is not following the Scanning Code of Practice. It is NOT a law). If you do catch them with a mistake, they will only refund the overcharge. Still a great store though, some prices are high (ammunition), some prices are great (bulk bolts), and they have a lot of little things that you can't get anywhere else.
Definitely hit up Mariposa Market but make sure you are hungry ice never been to the opp museum but it is there...there is also the Stephen Leacock museum.
