As the topic says, this is for planning the potluck dinner for the summer rally.. Being Hosted by Strawhouse on site 118. So post your questions, meal ideas and most importantly what dish you are going to be bringing .. Please keep in mind when your preparing your dish there are 17 Adults, and possibly up to 14 kids (I"ll update this number later). It has also been requested if things could possibly be made as nut free as possible.. While this may be difficult in most cases, if your dish does contain nuts, nut products please label them as such. Also if I could get those whom were unsure of the exact number of "kids" who might be joining for the weekend could get back to me with a confirmed number, so everyone can ensure they have enough of their dish for everyone..
So, if I remember correctly, Snow mentioned that he was not going to be making Chili this year. If that is still the case, I will be 'Chili King of a Day' this time around. In addition to nuts, remember about no mushrooms for Mel. If you make a dish that has garlic in it, please make a small paper card that says 'GARLIC' on it and put it beside the dish. That way nobody has to drive me to the hospital. Please still make your dish the regular way with garlic, don't change your recipe for me, just let me know so I don't get any. Thanks a bunch!
Nope, not doing chili this year.. going try and find another way to poison you ...lol You would think that after 4 and 5 years of camping with you and Mel, that I would remember your allergic to garlic and mushrooms and post that..
Alrighty then ..... I'll do a batch of Chili this year, and let someone else take a stab at Meatballs. I think Mel mentioned that she wanted to do Meatballs, so we'll see what she comes up with. No problem about the poisoning, I have my Pup willed to the local cat shelter. They can fill it full of cats when I'm gone. That'll keep the mice out.
I'm sure it will be good. I will take a stab at the homemade meatballs! I promise them to be garlic free and nut free! I will make a finger-friendly dessert as well.

I just did a "test" pulled pork in the dutch oven this past weekend... It turned out fantastic!!. That's now the plan for the rally, Dutch oven pulled pork.
Ok fellow campers, with about a month left to go it is time to start finalizing the great gourmet menu for this summer's Ontario Rally. . Keep in mind there are a few allergies. Nuts, Garlic and Mushrooms (of the fungus varity).. If your dish contains any of the three, please label it as to which one it has, so those affected can skip over it.. Post here as to what your bringing, think we already have 4 main dishes (we can do one more), so we need some sides and deserts.. Almost time to get the feed bag strapped on...
Yes was counting your pork, garys chili and mels meatballs and our dish.. which with you doing pork. We'll do chicken..
I saw a campfire Brie recipe in my feed the other day, made me drool but I was wondering if there will be a fire going
So been asked by a few folks, and figure it is time to try and finalize the numbers attending for the potluck..
i'm a bit behind. please pardon my tardiness. i'm going to be 1 adult. not sure about 1 kid. i'll update the rest as soon as i catch up my reading. if i go solo... i might try and do some ribs.. i can only fit about 3 racks on the bbq.... all depends on if i want to take the bbq apart for the trip LOL
Oops! Forgot to put this thread on my ‘watch’ list... I see that we seem to have the main dishes covered, so I’ll bring strawberry shortcake—the old-fashioned kind with tea biscuits. Just like my mom used to make.
