Going out on a limb here, but I predict lots of mosquitos and blackflies at Arrowhead this weekend.
Well, not really a long limb...
I live 20min from the park, and the bugs are crazy!
Or maybe that’s just me...
We're stocked up on Muskall and Off skintastic
Possibly 3 adults and a toddler... will firm up later in the week. My sister may be joining us. Her hubby is on nights all weekend.
Just burn a couple bags of wet park wood.. lol.
Anyone, bring egg cartons!!
No idea what to make..
Just me and my youngest this trip.
Still busy AF getting things sorted and such...
Any ideas for food, I’ll welcome them! Simple is best for this guy!
Egg cartons for ? starting fires ?
Anyone else bringing a kayak or canoe?
Just a reminder for anyone travelling North up Hwy, 11, as of Monday the construction zone starts just below (South) of the frist NB exit into Huntsville where the road is down to 1 lane, it stays this way right up to the exit ramp for Arrowhead .. Although it did look like the section from just North of Hwy. 60 to the Arrowhead cut-off might be open by the weekend, when I drove thru it wasn't..
Going southbound on Monday won’t be any better. Returning home from Restoule PP on the May 24th weekend, it took me an hour to drive from north of the Arrowhead exit to the southernmost exit to Huntsville. It’s usually a 5-min drive.
IMHO, going through downtown Huntsville won’t likely save you any time—in either direction—on a long weekend, unless the traffic is stop-and-go for a considerable distance before you reach the construction zone. However, if it’s really bad, you could cut off at Muskoka Road 2 (you pass Timmys—at points A and B):
We are planning to bring our kayaks.
Arrived after an absolutely gruelling 20min drive. All set up. Sun/cloud and nice breeze. Bugs don’t seem bad....yet.
Haven’t camped in this part of Roe campground before. Time for a walk to the beach with a picnic dinner and my book.
