Aaahhhhhh. Yes the way that wind is whipping around no wonder. If I know Jimmy though, I bet there is some snazzy high faluting generator system in place. Probably with disco lights.

Fortunately, we have power. God thing, because we’re under an extreme cold warning over night and into tomorrow. Forecast with wind chill -37C (-35F). Most definitely ‘parka weather’...

In this instance, I was actually referring to a true parka, not the shell of a 3-in-1 jacket that Mike has confused with a parka in the past.
    So, for Mike’s sake:
    Parka:
Online definition: A parka is an insulated, waterproof coat with a hood. Before you head out on a winter camping trip in Canada, you'll want to make sure your parka is warm enough.
Parkas are designed to block the wind and keep you warm — they are often lined with fur or another plush, cozy material. The earliest version of the parka was invented by Canadian Inuits, using caribou or seal skin and fur, and coated with fish oil to make it waterproof. Parka is an Aleut word that means "animal skins," and it's also used in Russian to mean "a jacket made from a pelt."

    Power's still out. They're estimating 2PM. Ugh.
Thanks for being patient with Mike and now Todd. You were a teacher so you have a great touch with the learning disabled.

Some kids just need to be exposed to more learning opportunities in order to internalize complex concepts.;)

Todd, you beat me to it!

Parka, jacket, overcoat ... Pat, you can explain it any way you want. The fact remains, the person from the coldest area is the first to put on an over lying garment. I don't need no learnin' to know there is something odd about that. [LOL][LOL][LOL]

You beat me to the punch Mike. I just got it too!

Steph, should we all just sit tight for a month or two and not cancel in case this clears up?

I'm sitting tight, it's just a wait and see things may change.

Yeah, I'm not cancelling until July if it still isn't open. I think this is a bit extreme, closing for the whole summer this early on.

    Good morning all,

Yes I just saw the same email. I am keeping my reservation for now as August is still pretty far off. I agree that I think this is incredibly conservative for them to announce they are going to close for that long. At this point, I'm only thinking/worrying about our dewinterizing trip in April and Schodack in May.

    Steph
