'STEVIE'S CAMPING DONUTS 'N' FRITTERS'! We'll see if we can make that work. Unfortunately, those donuts take about 3 hours of prep time, but we'll try and crack the whip on him to make them.

Yeah, I picked up a used tent off the FB Marketplace for Julie yesterday. Set it up on the back deck today to check it out, and its in A1 condition. Coleman 9x11 ft. It's 6 feet tall right out to the walls. Pretty good for $50. Divorced chick getting rid of it, said it was only used 2-3 times. Exactly what Julie wanted. She wants to come to the rally with it, wants to meet up a Bonnechere with it, and booked Port Burwell for August. She's gonna have a great camping summer! Love when your kids pick this tradition of holidays up. Makes it all worthwhile remembering back to the days of boiling formula over a Coleman stove on a picnic table, getting slaughtered by mozzies, about 25 short years ago.

Yup....I remember camping with my parents, aunts and uncles, and cousins some 35-40 years ago. Definite memories!

    Time to re-boot this thread.

There's been no action here for over a month now.
Looks like Ont Parks has extended the park closures for the month of May now. That was to be expected I guess. Even if it gets extended through June, hopefully things will be back up and running for July 1.

Some pictures here to spruce people up during this time of the Corona...

    First 1 for Mel..

2nd one is for Snow. F18 tearing up the sky of North Bay

1 for Pat,....because.... well, thats Pat in her boat!

And 1 for everybody else, because I don't have a picture of you all. Sparky, T&T, Andrew, Jimmy, Jenn, Jeff

Hopefully the parks open in time for us to all get together again and have a few drinks, and a few jokes around the campfire.

Well the news today is slightly encouraging that we might be able to enjoy a campfire together in July..

CF18s and other Norad jets were testing out their carpet bombing runs over Toronto today.. Bet that scared more people then the airshow at the CNE does...

Mel likes snake pictures? Cool, I try and take a couple of the critters we have around here...

Jenn (AlgonquinGirl) and I have reservations at Canisbay Campground, Algonquin Park 3NTS Arr June 19th Dp June 22nd. Booked this after the March 13th international travel advisory and before the border closure. However, I’m not confident that the parks—or the border—will re-open until at least after our July 1st and the US July 4th celebrations, given that those holidays are not conducive to social distancing.

I needed to camp so I set up camp driveway on Pats property. Social distancing and self contained so all is safe :). AE680212-93E6-46E0-A4F2-044F9C65215B.jpeg

    Just a thought....
Maybe we just need to plan for a bring-your-own meal. [CK]
Everyone could make their own dinner and brings it to well-space campfire circle. This would reduce possible contact via shared utensils, etc.
Fingers crossed that Earl Rowe will be open. I wouldn't be surprised if Ontario Parks keeps parks closed until after the July 1st/July 4th holidays.

I suspect camping will be open by july long weekend.. Parks have been told to start preparing and come up with approved cleaning methods and routines for common areas..

Yes may have to do a BYOF dinner.. May also have to do a few separate group campfires, if the total number of people is still 5.. Wrenches clan takes care of that alone..

parks would be smart to put in motion sensor taps and toilets.

I know the national parks are on hold until at least June 22. We had a meeting with Bruce last week.

Ok with today's announcement, it looks like this will happen as Earl Rowe is in the Simcoe-Muskoka Health Region. Along with new number for Gathering in groups, can now do groups of 10 people..
