It's time to start planning the 2017 Northeast PA Rally. We had a good turnout for the first year, and I hope we can grow it for next year. The dates for 2017 will be June 16-18 (Father's Day weekend). Location will be the same as last year. Pickerel Point Campground, at Promised Land State Park. This is a very nice, quiet, campground with beautiful bath houses, and nice sites. Most of the sites are electric only, but there are several water spigots in the campground for water tank fill ups. The loop is surrounded by a lake, and has a very nice beach/swimming area at the end of the loop. The Park also has many other activities to do. Check out the website at http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/stateparks/findapark/promisedland/. The sites are reserveable now, and are already starting to fill up. This campground fills up fast, so if you are even remotely interested in coming, I would reserve now and cancel later if you can't come. Hope to see you there!

Wish we could make it, but that is the last weekend the kids are in school here and that Monday is our 5th grader's "Moving up ceremony", 4 hours little too far for having to leave after school Friday and be back at a decent time Sunday.

Ok, I'm going to look into reserving a site. But it will be your job in Vermont to help me convince Jeff that electric only isn't going to be the death of him. Or maybe we shouldn't say anything and just see his reaction when he realizes there's no water hookups. [LOL]

Sorry you can't make it ny_rocking_chairs. Maybe next time.

Welcome NavyMan, can't wait to meet you.

You are lucky buddy. I was eyeing that one up. but I decided to let you have it. [:D]

I like that idea. I can see the fear on his face now. [LOL] [LOL]

By the way I will be in site 115 this year, June 14-18.

Welcome Pat. Glad you can join us again next year. We won't have to walk as far to play cards now. [LOL] Just so you know, KMH stayed in that site this year, and the site has a little drop off to the drivers side back corner. You may not notice it as much with your small pup, and can probably place your camper better as it is a pretty nice size site, but I would make sure you have plenty of leveling blocks for the tire and the stabilizers.

Hi Mike! Thanks for the tip! I bought a BAL leveller, and I will bring extra blocks for my stabilizers.

Welcome Stefie, so glad you are coming! So did you convince Jeff he can do it, or is it a surprise when you get there? [LOL]

Pat, you should be in good shape then, the BAL leveler is great, I used to have one too when we had the pup.

We are up to 5 confirmed, so we are now OFFICIAL!

I have put together another spreadsheet of attendees like last year, you can view it here: 2017 Northeast PA Rally Spreadsheet, So if everyone can let me know how many people/pets, I will keep it up to date.

As of right now, Jeff knows nothing about the hookups. I just asked him if he wanted to go to the rally and told him we'd stay an extra day so he doesn't have to drive on Father's Day. I'm such a considerate wife, right?!?! [LOL] [LOL] I think I'm going to use Vermont to talk up how dry camping isn't such an awful thing and get him on board with that and then tell him at some point in the next year that "Hey at least we have power!"

Yeah, not having water hookup is nothing. Just fill your on board tank while pulling into the loop.

The campground was great as was the rest of the park. If we can swing it, we'll be attending again next year.
