2nd PUP trip Jan 2-4 - Highlands Hammock SP FL

After our a really fun and smooth trip to Lake Kissimmee SP we have Highlands Hammock SP on deck! Looking to deploy the canopy on this one. We didn't need it with the abundant tree cover and probably won't in this campground either but we want to be fully "deployed" lol.

Quick stupid question. When we pull out for this trip should I have the fridge 12v switch turned on while hooked up?

Thanks!

Most of the sites receive good shade. Sites 37 to 52 have less shade than other sites.

NOOOOOO. Don't run fridge on 12v, unless you don't need a battery on the trip. We run ours on propane while traveling. I do check it every time we stop though to make sure the pilot didn't blow out.

I was thinking the same thing as Toad with the 12V fridge while pulling. But if I'm getting 12v from the TV wont it be OK?

yes it should. in fact I don't know about running on propane while going 55 to 70 MPH down the road. doesn't make sense to me to have to check the pilot light every time you stop. if you are not charging your onboard 12v dc system you need your vehicle checked. sorry thats the truth. don't forget to unplug the trailer every time you stop for a while, like 1/2 hour or more. it will run down your battery on your TV. ps, include your location and trailer plus tow vehicle in your signature so people know how to respond to your questions , Toad

We run propane on the road and have never had it go out. You would just need to remember to turn it off if you refuel and some states have different rules like when going in tunnels and such. But never had a problem.

Thanks for the replies. I'm using the tapatalk mobile app and I don't think it adds the info.

Just came back from a great 5 day camping trip. Rained the first day and half and then temps dipped in the 30's to 40's with gradual warming toward the w/e. We did 2 fried turkeys and roasted another and baked a ham with all the sides. Great Thanksgiving day with friends and family. Took the kids on the tram tour Saturday and saw gators, turtles, blue heron, white ibis, woodpecker, hawks and deer. Saturday afternoon they had reports of bears going through the picnic area and we were told to secure all our food and not leave any outside. They had electrical fences around all the dumpsters. We all had a great time and look forward to coming back to Highlands Hammock again.
