Took my mother and 9 year old boy out camping at a bluegrass festival. Not a huge fan but boy was there a lot of talent there! We had bands camping all around us and we're out in the middle of the country! It was in a small town known at the earthquake capital of the world. Right on the San Andreas fault line.

There is one campground I go often that every year holds a bluegrass festival on-site. That place and all the surrounding campgrounds/hotels etc get booked solid. The campground is packed and people even camping in the overflow parking area it's nuts. However from everyone I talked to said how much fun it was that it's worth going to at least once. I've never went yet, but may give it a go some year.

Looks like ya'll had a blast, I know the Boy had a blast. Canoe Camping I stopped at the Spirit of the Suwanee CG and Canoe outpost and due to really bad weather we decided to camp there. A bunch of the performers came up to the outpost and we sat one the porch and jammed until they had to leave
(it was dark by then) and perform that nite on stage. We had a great time and left the next morning. Those are great pictures thanks for sharing that is what camping is all about is making memories. Good Luck and Keep On Camping

Mountain Home, Arkansas is also home to mountain music too and is on our list for PUP camping. Haven't been yet but have a friend that keeps his MH there and stays every Fall for a few months. I have a dulcimer but can't play it as I may take some lessons there someday.

While I normally do not listen to bluegrass it is fun to go. Sometimes the music in the camp is better than on stage. We had bands jamming all around us. They would go past midnight. It was very kid friendly. This was our 4th year going. It only costs $25 a night. Good family fun!

Bluegrass festivals have been the high point of my summer camping for much of my life, but now I get to do it in comfort in my pup. Playing music with my friends, breakfast time, preshow, after-show - whenever - is about as much fun as these old bones can stand. Heading down to NC in a two weeks for the Fiddlers Convention in Mt. Airy and am wondering if any other Portal members will be there.

Yup. This was my first year in my pop up. Last year I was supposed to have my new pop up but they over promised on the delivery date and the weather sucked! It put the final nail in the coffin of ever tent camping again!

    Woo Hoo!!!!

We are headed to Delfest run by Del McCory's family this coming weekend!! First time.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the acts I listen to on the Grand Ole Opry - especially Ricky Skaggs and Old Crow Medicine Show as well as Del McCoury and the Travelin McCourys.

I hadn't really thought about people playing in the camping area. That's going to be a real treat. (My ukelele will stay well hidden - since my audience of dogs seem to think it's a torture device)

I'm really excited to have a place to come back and relax between acts. I know there has been hail and storms pass through at past Delfests so having extra changes of clothes and be able to get up slowly and enjoy breakfast will be nice. Plus there's a river that you can swim along and listen to the music.

    Hmm
I'm going to have to scope out the camp grounds and see what impromptu shows pop up!

Glad you had a great time at your festival!

Delfest is a dandy festival. Went 3-4 years ago (pre-Pup) and had a good time. Jamming in the campground is really a thing. Walk around and you'll find some awesome music. Have fun and afterward give us a report.

DH loves Bluegrass, me I can take it or leave it. But, seeing/hearing live music is always awesome! Looks like a great time. Your pics are really nice, especially the black & whites!
