We are a few days away from picking up a 1985 Avion, 25H. to say I'm excited is a ridiculous understatement. It is as close to like new as a vintage camper can be.

    I like it

I looked at a couple of Avions before buying an Airstream.

Avions are scarce. I only recall seeing one in a campground in the past 10 years. That was last fall.

thanks all. I have always wanted this kind of camper, thought it would always be just a item on my dream about it list. But some good friends own it, they just bought a new 5th wheel. They offered to sell it to us, knowing how much I admired it every time I saw it. I'm pretty happy about it! They are hard to find, especially as small as this is. It's about 4' longer than our Starcraft.

Very nice. I always liked the Avions and Airstreams. Unfortunately around here they tend to be out of my budget unless you want a serious fixer upper. Enjoy the new camper, she looks a beaut!

thank you! I have not found one in many years of looking that I could afford or that were not a real can of worms. This is a very unique situation in that good friends decided they had one camper too many, they knew how much I loved their camper and they decided to offer it to us. I am pinching myself frequently. we don't own it yet, but it seems the deal is agreed upon.
I believe airstreams are really getting more and more expensive. We have been offered a crazy good price.

I am very happy for you. How in the heck did they keep it so pristine! I'd guess no kids? A very carefull and particular couple your friends maybe? We have a friend in our old water ski club who is extremely anal retentive about caring for all his stuff. We all knew that whomever bought Larry's boat when he upgraded every four years or so, was getting a boat almost as good as new. ;) Congrats ! !

Is that couch built in or is it a regular couch?

Very nice. You can buff the outside of that camper and make it as pretty as the inside.

From my research, I think Avions use an anodized aluminum and they are that "satin pewter" look. I read somewhere someone said,"Avion con; can't be polished, Avion pro; can't be polished.

I don't know if the couch can be moved. I do know the back and the seat are separate pieces. The back is an upholstered piece that rests against some stops. behind it. To make it into a bed, you just remove the back. slip covers should be a cinch.

The trailer was kept in a big heated shop. the owners enjoy making old cars into show pieces. I think it was in really good condition when they got it, and they took care of it, for sure.
