The installation manual for my Redarc Tow-Pro electric brake controller calls for a 30A self resetting cicuit breaker in the supply line from the battery. But this power ultimately would go out into the 14 Gage wire in the factory-installed tow harness in my 2011 Jeep Liberty. 14AWG wire is only good for 15A.
So I will be putting in a 15A breaker.
The measured load from the pair of ebrake magnets on my single axle trailer is only 6.4A max, so my breaker is still way larger than the maximum draw.
