Cool. What did you use for the photography?

I just picked up a Phantom 3 Standard last week on the Black Friday sale. I've been having fun practicing some aerial photography and videography with it this week.

That is so cool. There is one lone tree of color in a sea of green. So many trees, something I really wish there was more off here.

The DJI Phantom series are great quads. Every review I read before buying mine all said the same thing - a beginning quad pilot pretty much can't go wrong with the Phantom 3 Standard.

My first quad was a uber expensive custom one. It was all manual and regardless of tweeking the endless PID settings, would never fly as stable as the DJI Phantoms that costs 1/3 of the price I put into it. They are so easy to fly now.

I know. I'm amazed at how much capability the Phantom 3 Standard has, for a drone that regularly retails for about $500 USD. I paid under $400 for mine on the Black Friday sale.

It's pretty cool to be able to put the Phantom in a hover, take my hands off the controls, and pull out the point-and-shoot camera to take a photo of the drone in flight, without worrying that it's going to go out of control.

Here's a shot I pulled from the video taken yesterday, and two shots from the P&S of the drone in flight:
