Do you carry a portable compressor? If not it’s a good idea for tires and can inflate air mattress and pool toys as well.

    I've had 3 different types...

120v works great. Very fast. Definitely the strongest of the 3.

Battery. Requires 6 C batteries. Ultra portable. Terribly slow and under powered.

12v (cigarette lighter). Best of both worlds. Portable and just as powerful as the 120v.

I could deal with the slow speed of the battery powered pump. The real problem is that I couldn't get it to build enough pressure inside the mattresses. I like a firm bed, and the battery powered pump didn't cut it.

I have a 12v pump that's works great. I didn't even know they had a battery pump, but since I have a 12v outlet in the back of my SUV it is usually isn't that much of a problem. Except if the air mattress lost its air in the middle of the night. It's way too noisy to use it in the middle of the night and a pain to have to take the mattress out of the tent. For some reason I always landed on the ground at least once or twice a trip.

This is the one I have, works great. I carry a booster pack/lot jumper just in case. It has a 12v outlet so I can pump up wherever I need.

You can also suck with it. Makes deflating quick and nice and tight for folding back up.

Any car with a 12v outlet...or you could cut the 12v plug off and add alligator clips to attached directly to a battery.

I use a 150 watt inverter with the 100 volt pump that came with the mattress.

My pump takes 4 D cell batteries. There are also manual pumps that are actually quite efficient and inflating air beds, inflatable toys etc... Not so great at higher pressure applications though.
