Anyone else on this board that has a Jayco Baja off road PUP? I have a 10y model, here are my pics:

Does anyone use a weight distribution hitch setup with theirs? I tow with a 2008 Tacoma v6.

We had one for awhile. I towed it with a lifted '08 FJ Cruiser.

Never got around to using a weight distribution setup. Never had a problem with sway either. Had the deck loaded down multiple times and the only time it sagged out the FJC was when I had a 6500 watt generator, cooler, and 7 or 8 5gal gas cans. I only did that once when I towed it to work in case I needed it to stay in after a hurricane.

Nighthawk, I would like to get a 2012 Baja 12E, whenever I get the money. I need to get a T V first when the $ comes in. Nice units.

Giving this a bump to see if any other Baja owners can weigh in. Jealous of all the action in the Evo thread!!

    Hey guys,

Looking at 2005 10Y. Is 2005 the first year? Is there anything particular I should be looking out for?

These units are on my short list, definitely a great feature list.

I think '05 was the first year for the 10Y. They introduced what was called the Qwest Baja in 2004. Then in '05 they re-branded the series, the Qwest Baja became the Baja 10Z and the 10Y was introduced.

No problematic issues that I know of with this line. As with any used unit, very important to look for signs of leaks or water damage (mildew smell is the first clue).

Thanks teejaywhy. Turns out a 2008 just came up too. I'm curious about the dinette setup. I can see that layout being both an asset and a liability. Longer bench can sit more people, while at night time it might be inconvenient to get in and out into that. What has been your exerience?

    Thanks!

The 10Y floorplan is different than the 10Z. Our dinette seating does not extend in front of the bunkend so I don't know if it's a hassle or not.

Hi Ya'll, if I can find one, we are most likely going to become 10z owners. Any words of wisdom for someone stalking a 10z? If I can't find a 10z, were there other pups you considered? I'm aware of the Evolutions, but with two growing kids I like the couch/goucho. Just a dinette will soon be too short to be viable...

MTBDad, evolutions come in different sizes. Are you specifically looking for the smallest one? If you're after an "offroad" PUPs, there's also Starcraft 10RT (and 11RT, 13RT,14RT) and Forest River Flagstaff 19RN (there might be more).
