Any thoughts on this price? 2010 jayco 1207 for $7850

Stopped at a dealership today and found a pop-up that the whole family likes. Jayco 1207. Has additional options of indoor/outdoor stereo and electric brakes. List was $11,129 (yeah...right). Sale price was $8900. QUoted me $8400 and then quickly lowered to $7850 when they saw I wasn't jumping to buy. ALthough their price was low, they weren't particularly pushing me to buy right then and there, but rather said they were definately trying to give me a pirce that would encourage me to consider it. From shopping around, that price seems pretty reasonable. ANyone have any experience with this particular camper (and price you might have paid for it)?

We have a Jayco 1207, it is a 95 and bought it used, this year for less than $1,900. I never priced new models but can tell you that we love our Jayco.

A dealer here list a 2010 jayco 1207 with a msrp of $11,372.oo Sale price of $9,695.00
with free A/C.

Thats what is shown on the website.

If it's new that might be a pretty decent deal. I'd check out NADA 's website and you can search on RVs and input everything just like you can car shopping.

I'd say jump on it! We got ours early this year for 9k out the door, including brake controller installed. We have loved every second we've spent with it!

Last month I bought our new 2010 1207 for $8,200 plus state tax in Ohio. List was about 11,550.

It had the following options:
customer value package - awning, 3way fridge, water purifier, 2 bunkend fan lights
hydraulic surge brakes
portable outside gas grill
powered roof vent
stereo with outside speakers
16000 BTU furnace with auto ignition
2nd table with pedistal leg

I did also find a new 2010 1207 for $7,450 with no options other than the customer value package 2nd table and furnace but no brakes in Michigan

We have a 1207 and love it. Can't help much about the price, we bought ours in June 2009. We found a dealer that still had some new 2008 models in their showroom, the 2010s were just coming out and they needed to sell the '08s, so we drove 200 miles to the dealer, picked up the Jayco and spent our first night camping in a local campground. We got ours for $6,400 with everything on it but the stereo and the AC and it had electric brakes insted of the hydraulic ones. I installed my own brake controller before we picked it up ($50) and installed the AC this spring for under $500.

I've done some mods but nothing that was needed, I just try to reinvent the wheel (so far it's worked out pretty good). Like I said, we love our 1207!

Ours has pretty much everything except:

Stereo (we use our own)
Furnace (We have a ceramic heater if we need it - haven't so far)
We did not get the optional peg leg table for the u-shape dinnette. We just wanted the seating area and bought a ($7) board at Lowes for making into a bed.

We also have electric brakes instead of surge.

We are in upstate SC.

Well, we bought it. They would not budge on the price of $7850 (told us that it was pretty aggressive pricing to begin with) but they did through in the heated mattress pads which are a $250 option. I called dealers all over the US and couldn't get a better price. In fact, most were about a $1000 more. So pretty happy with the price. We pick it up on Tuesday...time to plan next year's camping adventures. Thanks for all the advice.

BTW, if you have not yet picked it up I have a suggestion for you:
have the dealer take a good 1 hour to show you everything from set up to take down including how the appliances work, etc. when you do pick it up.

They are SUPPOSED to do a walk thru per the manufacturer (Jayco). There should be a sign off sheet saying they did this, which the dealer sends in to Jayco.

Make sure to take your time, ask them to slow down when needed, ask as many questions as possible and DO NOT skip anything... our dealer skipped over the canopy setup and even though it is simple as pie, we could not figure it out on our own on the first outting!

I got in late, you but got a good deal. We paid about that earlier in the year for an 09 with air.

We love Love LOVE our 1207. Short of something with a slide-out, I don't think I've seen a more spacious floor plan. Not so much floor space, but usable seating space. It comes in pretty hand when the weather forces us inside and we can send the two kids to the back where they can entertain themselves at the dinette or on their bunk, while we hand out on the sofa off the king bunk.

Not to mention, lots of storage and counter space. Enjoy, and I echo the others, get out this year!
