It’s 50° here right now and supposed to be 41° at 7 AM.
Great camping weather!
Yes we are. Headed to the North Georgia mountains.
Sadly we had another death in the family. So I cancelled. I'm going to try and get out next weekend as there is an apple festival going on and gosh knows I need some true "fun" time.
Two nights in Flagstaff this weekend are the beginning of our 2-week trip to both rims of Grand Canyon, with 2 nights at Wahweap (Lake Powell) between them. Temps are supposed to be in the 30s, highs in the low 70s for the next couple of days. If the wind stays reasonable, we'll explore Sunset Canyon and Wupatki NMs tomorrow. (We started out with heavy rain in NM, great sunshine by the time we hit Gallup, then the winds began, and mpg dropped.)
My father in law went to be with his wife and my son, night before last. Blessings on your family, and best of luck getting out next weekend!
We're supposed to get a major cool-down starting tomorrow, highs are going from 90-ish to 75-ish. I've always said, Planet Georgia weather is nutty. @RobertZ picked a perfect time for visiting Sector 706, as long as the rain holds off until Monday as forecast.
I'm going to try to talk DW into a weekend (or at least an overnight) at one of the county lake parks next weekend (weather permitting). If she agrees, I'll have to get the battery rigged up tout suite because it's all dry camping at those parks!
Sadly no, we have prior obligations. Near perfect camping weather predicted, and hoping for the same kind of weather in a couple weeks.
We have had a couple of trips one was a week in South Wales on the Gower coast and this week Corfe Castle in the county of Dorset South coast of England. In the 2 weeks we only had 3 rainy days but the campsite at Corfe Castle we were under a oak tree and when the wind picked up those acorns that came down made a din on the roof, the poor dog wasn't too happy and I needed ear plugs
We were supposed to go but life got in the way, but we are going next weekend
Didn’t want to get snowed on. Cut fire wood instead. Luckily where we camp and cut wood is the same place.
Thanks for posting photos bobinfleet. We have a welsh gal here who married an American. My folks have attended the world BC trails which that year, was in the Lake District..
That looks so great.
A couple of years ago, I camped in a large RV campground that was pretty much covered in oak trees, with huge acorns (much larger than the ones we had in New York state of the oak shrubs in the American Southwest). They needed no wind to fall, it was bad enough on my own roof, but many of the rigs h
We have dents in the roof from setting up under a hickory tree last fall.
We were supposed to leave today for a week of camping. Sadly, heat pump broke and a few other thing have interfered so we had to cancel our trip. As of right now, next camping will be at Disney in December.
This year has been an all time low for camping. Two separate total knee replacements have put me out of commission for a total of about 5-6 months this year. I was really looking forward to this week, but wasn't meant to be. Hopefully, next year will be better.
Where in Wales is she from? I was born in Wales in a town called Cwmbran
Sorry, but no idea. A dental surgeon's we know wife is Welsh as well, but i believe she came to the states as a very young child. Are they everywhere here???
We do plan to camp more since fall has just started. That statement is really a joke, since fall colors here are now at there peak, or beyond on the south shore of da little lake. (Superior)
Yowch! I had one done a couple years ago; I was functional fairly quickly but not fully functional for about 3 months. I didn't do any camping, though. Funny thing was, I had less pain going up steps than down.
My first one is great, had it done in February. Second one was done about 11 -12 weeks ago and still a little sore, but good enough to go camping. This week just wasn't meant to be ...
Not last weekend, but next: Bullards Beach SP. It's a new one for us!
