Articulating Camper Bike Rack

I want to put as little weight on my roof as possible so I'm making a bike rack that shares the weight on the front hitch and swings down to allow for the roof to raise. There are a lot of design challenges such as; keeping it as light as possible, clearance over the support handle and crank handle, clear and for the bunk end to slide out, etc... Will keep you posted, I'm about 70% complete.

Great idea. Such a simple idea. Front fork mount keep bikes very secure. Your right most of the weight will be transferred to the frame.

Maybe a factory option some day.
