I feel ashamed of myself. I reply to posts when it makes sense to do so, even if in jest. I almost get the feeling I should keep quiet. We've owned our pop up for a month already and I just now taught myself how the different systems work. Sad. Looks great set up beside our house, but I'm dying on the inside.
    MUST TRAVEL
    LOL.

Its better to ask questions than to mess things up.

Uh oh. If a month has passed and your not having fully learned the systems is reason for shame, I'm wondering now what it is I'm supposed to feel about myself for having owned a pup for 7+ years and still having not touched the water system or cassette toilet. LOL.
I do hope to get into those things this year. In fact, the plan is to backyard camp a bit and learn these systems so that if there is a problem, I'm here at home and not out in the brush somewhere.

Don't feel shamed dude, let others do it for you! [LOL][LOL][LOL] Wife stays on my azz continually, feels better coming on here & getting slapped around lol...like Ductape said, my humor is oft 1 sided...do what you can when you can, home is the best place to figure stuff out as mentioned; just got an e-mail notification that our May 8th trip is cancelled, so Camp Asphalt will be open here yet another weekend...we pop open the kitchen galley door & turn on the bluetooth & listen to the oldies station & engage in a barley pop or 4 as the sun sinks, sometimes firing up the Flame Genie... thumbnail_IMG_1362.jpg

Well, our camper is still in storage and we still have snow in the yard. Does misery need company? [LOL] Dog on left is not ours. Daisy is the neighbors.

Me thinks we are all in the same pup here. Hopefully everything will start re-opening soon But better to be safe than sorry, luckily I have enough things to do here on the farm to keep me busy. BUT Pebbles and I would really like to spend a few days camping and fishing.

Oh the snow yet.... How I don’t miss that in Houghton. Went to Michigan Tech ‘79-‘82 and remember the feet of snow. I took a 6 mo co-op south in Iowa for the winter of ‘79 (record 33 1/3 feet of snow....yes over 30 feet of snow that year!). I remember the snow not completely gone until the end of May. The summers are incredible, though - mild temps and lots of great scenery in the UP. The Fall colors are fantastic.

If we didn't get good snow here, we'd move. We ski all winter and enjoy summers without AC. Every year we meet more tech alumni who purchased a retirement house here. good tracks2017a.jpg

Ya know, we're hijacking the thread here, and turning into a snow/no snow thread. Sorry 'bout that.

Every year year I say the same thing - "It's not that I hate Winter, but I like it less and less every year". We recently spent 2 American Thanksgivings in Fla., and to see all the Christmas stuff out on store shelves and decorations out in the community, and Christmas songs hitting you from every direction, sure seems strange to me without it being cold, or not having snow on the ground. There's no bite in the air, there's no leaves changing colour, no steam from your breath when you talk, no hats or gloves. It's 80 degrees there and sunny..... hmmmmm, somehow doesn't seem right. I need snow and the changing of the seasons to keep my internal clock on schedule, (even though I complain about it every year).

I'm not gonna lie, I LOVE our cassette toilet. Saves trips outside in the middle of the night and we pull down the top of the cabinet during the day so you'd never even know it was there. It never smells (we try to keep "solids" out of it) and it's super easy to clean. Go for it!!!

Thanksgiving in Fla. reminds me of Christmas in Tucson Arizona . That was also very strange to me being I'm from northern Indiana . 75 degrees during the day and Christmas décor every where .
