    Don't get me started on switching to Linux PUP's...

    1. We would need to learn a foreign language in order to open it...It doesn't matter if you already know a foreign language you need to learn a new one

    2. You would be required to share your PUP with anyone else who has ever used a PUP this is well documented under the PU public license

    3. Working on your PUP would require the assistance of the neighborhood uber geek

    4. We would look at all these great accessories available for PUPs yet not be able to use them because they would not be compatible.

    5. Use of ANY accessory would only happen after the neighborhood uber geek managed to hack the PUP and re compile a compatibility list.

    6. While we would have a vast array of choices in our PUPs we would never meet another who used the same brand. All would be similar but different enough to make them unable to occupy the same CG.

    7. To get the most out of our PUPs we would need to use command line

    here is an example of opening it$ sudo tail /var/log/auth.log
    Dec 5 06:00:28 localhost sudo: hacksaw : user NOT in sudoers ; TTY=pts/1 ; PWD =/home/snorri ; USER=root ;
    COMMAND=/usr/bin/emacs /etc/resolv.conf
    Dec 5 06:01:15 localhost su[15573]: (pam_unix) session opened for user root by snorri(uid=1000)
    Dec 5 06:02:09 localhost sudo: hacksaw : TTY=pts/1 ; PWD=/home/snorri ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/emacs /etc/resolv.conf
    Dec 5 06:02:49 localhost sudo: hacksaw : TTY=pts/1 ; PWD=/home/snorri ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/bin/tail /var/log/auth.log

    and I will stop there

    You have an older pup that has a broken manual lift arm. You search the internet for a replacement but the original manufacturer no longer offers the original part but still has drivers for it in their archives. You finally find a company that makes after market lift arms for older pups and assures you their drivers are compatible with your 25 year old pup. After installing the after market lift arm and drivers and spending numerous hours on the phone with a tech support person with a horrible accent, he decides you need to upgrade to a newer pup that you would not need the lift arm for any way and is unable to be of any further service to you. You then decide to try the original manufacturers drivers and finally are able to raise the roof but in the middle of the night the drivers crash and the roof falls totaling the pup so you are forced to upgrade to a newer pup anyway.
