Used the pup this weekend and everything was great..although I didn't discover that my awning is starting to separate from where is mounted on the camper until i was refueling on the way home. It seems like the camper is soft where the screws came out..bad thing is I have another 4 day trip coming up this weekend. Any advice for a quick fix would be appreciated.. i do not think I ever hit anything with it , but did have a buddy helping set up last weekend.. im thinking 6 + hours of driving and bouncing down the highway did it in but the softness concerns me.

The softness is a rotten sideboard, which isn't too difficult to fix if you're a little handy. For a quick fix, you could just remove it, or you could maybe throw a strap over the top of the camper and hold it against the side. I did that when my awning bag started separating.

I really need the awning this weekend ..full sun site..was thinking about just drilling into different areas near same screws and put a bunch of caulk behind it for now

Definitely handy but no idea where to start to replace the side board

If that section of screws pulled out, I doubt you will find good wood in that area.

I think I would remove the awning for this trip and buy or barrow a portable awning at Walmart. Spare awnings always come in handy for other things/events beside camping. If your current awning blows off the expense to replace and repair could be quite higher as well as the traffic/safety Hazzard.

After closer inspection, its really rotted but I was able to get a screw into the very end of it and 1 further down that "seems" solid..I guess this is the downfall of a first time pup purchase and not knowing what to look for. Im going to get some kind of strong caulk to plug up the other holes for the time being. I watched videos on side board replacement and feel its way out of my realm of handiness. Will be looking into getting it repaired this fall or dumping it all together.

Check out Camper in the garage, Forum - roof and floor repair and maintence thread. Also You tube can be very helpful. The more maintenance you perform the more knowledge you gain and money you save.

I have watched the videos.1 thing is i dont have the yard or building to do this in and I really don't think I would want to attempt it..
Frustration has a cost too..rather not stress myself out!

Is it not possible to put some really strong adhesive to attach the rail to the side?

I can understand that Joe. No offense intended. Just trying to offer some support and confidence. Not having a shelter is a big show stopper.

So I used some gorilla glue to hold the awning in place for the past weekend and it passed the test
