Need a recommendation for a new awning mat. Anyone have a company they are happy with who sold them a mat they are thrilled with for a great price?

And my Hemlock's box is 14 feet...would you go with a 12 foot mat or a 16-18 foot mat?

    Thanks

Indoor / outdoor carpet (the stuff that looks like astro turf). You can buy it in whatever length you want. If you have an awning, I'd go with a piece the same size. It's inexpensive, so if anything really bad happens to it, you can easily replace it.

We use the brown indoor/outdoor carpet. The awning mats look nice but are too pricey for my Pennsylvania Dutch blood.

The stuff comes in six-foot widths, which is perfect, and can be cut to the length of the awning.

Even if it lasts just one season, we can replace it a lot of times before matching the price of an awning mat.

I use a patio mat that's made out of a rubber type material. It's like the anti slip mat you use under an area rug. It has holes all throughout the mat which lets water and dirt filter through. They call it a leisure mat. It is a little pricey but it folds up easily, takes up less room than the indoor/outdoor carpet and doesn't hold dirt.

I just went to Home Depot today and they had outdoor rugs and the astroturf rugs on display for $16. They looked like they would do a pretty good job for the money. For a good storage idea for a rug browse the modification section of this forum. I am planning on strapping a piece of PVC to the rear bumper of my pup and storing it there.

    Good Luck

We have 2 indoor/outdoor carpets from Home Depot - but I'm not completely happy with them. My brother uses 2 dog mats that he got on line somewhere from a pet supply place. They are woven polypropylene, don't mildew, and sweep/wash clean very easily. I need to find out where he got them - thought he said they were about $30. each and he uses 2 for his 29' hard side travel trailer.

We got this one, but they removed the pictures of the various mats...ours is the checker pattern and it looks like straw and has some black into it...it washes with a hose, sweeps well at campsite, is very light, folds up easily for storage, AND keeps down the dirt coming into the PUP!

Maybe you can find other places on the net to purchase or be able to see the pattern...if you use "exercise pen ground cover" in your search!

We were pleased with the service from Cherry Brook...

We got the same size as our awning, in hopes that rain wouldn't run through on the mat...but thats more a personal choice!

BTW, I do wrap it in a plastic garbage bag on the way home, and then rinse it with the hose, put back without garbage bag!

I have bought two mats from:

    http://www.myrvmat.com

These mats seem be well made but we haven't had them very long. They have loops instead of grommets at the corners but they seem strong enough. These came with a nice bag to put them in as well. We have a 2000 Coleman Niagara Elite and we have a 9x12 mat. It is just the right size.
