We purchased a used 2005 227 Flagstaff popup. Only the white battery cable is there. I believe i read on here that if given white and black cables, the white is positive. I don't know what color the missing is and once determined where do I follow the cables back to attach a new cable to.. any suggestions?

Actually, between white and black, black is positive. To be sure though, follow the white cable and see if it connects to the frame.

The black cable should tap into the black wire in the harness that will go to the trailer plug in the front and the convertor in the rear. I should have a fuse or circuit breaker inline near the positive battery terminal.

The wires are just a mess to me. I didn't find any lose black wires. I did find a wire thinner than the white neutral cable that lead to the gas tank and disappeared from there. It appears to have an inline fuse on it. Should i keep looking at this? Pic below i hope :) sorry the camper is set up and i have difficulty moving around under the popped out bed.

Yes keep looking ...Mark what you find. I don't see any need for a wire to the propane tank ...... but maybe the electric brake breakaway switch. I would start at the trailer plug and find the black battery charge wire from the tow vehicle. That will need to connect to the positive battery terminal.
What are those round things with 3 wire going to them?

Looks like you have thicker black and white wires. Those would typically be the ones that attach to the battery. In any case, you should clean up the wire mess at the front and zip tie them up and out of the way and so on.

Found it. Thanks for the guidance from you guys.

It's much thinner than the white cable. Just glad to have it. Will get it all cleanned up. Thanks again.

The last photo you can clearly see the white and black branches that go to the battery Screen Shot 2020-07-02 at 6.37.11 PM.png
Find the loose ends ....... the white goes to the negative and the black (after you add a circuit breaker) goes to the positive. Those round things are just wire splices..... (tape them up).
You have a small box with a pull cable and 2 wires .... that's the breakaway switch. ..... one wire will connect to the blue wire and the other will go to the battery positive terminal directly. When the pull cable is removed full battery power will be applied to the brakes and help stop the disconnected trailer.

Now that is worked out be sure to cap off any open or loose wires and zip tie them out of harm until you know what they are for.
