I'm confused by all the choices and prices for battery disconnect switches! Amazon's page (here) has several types from under $10 to $50. I'd guess the plastic ones wouldn't last long, buy cheap get cheap. Those of you who have added a switch, what style do you recommend?

    Thanks for the info!

The $15 plastic ones with the red knob have been used on boats forever. They all do the job, just buy one that fits where you want and you're happy with.
I'm more of a fan of something with a smaller footprint. But I also have no need for a cut off switch. I pull my battery after each trip and place it on a battery Tinder between trips. (I store mine at a RV storage place)

IME with these, I prefer the ones that have the contact surfaces of the switch 'sealed' inside the switch. The screw on/off 'battery post' disconnect ones corrode, as do the knife switches - with this type of contact surface, even a small amount of corrosion can really mess with your battery's ability to charge, and discharge, reliably. You would be better off in the medium to long term (IMO) with a sealed marine type unit. They aren't that costly, under $20 easy.

I just disconnect the negative cable from the battery when I put the camper in it's storage shed. Takes about 30 seconds.

I opted for a switch for the circuit that had the continuous draw on the battery, gas detector and 12 volt charge ports.
