BBQ Tofu

    Great for low fat, high protein camping meals.

    BBQ Tofu

    2 packages of extra-firm tofu
    2-3 cups of thick BBQ sauce

    1. Drain the tofu and press any remaining liquid out.
    2. Freeze in ziplock bags.
    3. Thaw and press any residual liquid out.
    4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    5. Slice into 3/8x1” strips (if the pieces. (expect some pieces to fall apart. )
    6. Line a baking pan or cookie tray with aluminum foil.
    7. Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce on the foil.
    8. Arrange the tofu strips and pieces on the foil in single layer.
    9. Spread remaining BBQ sauce on top.
    10. Bake for 1 hour (or until sauce is no longer runny and is sticking to the tofu.
    11. Refrigerate covered until ready to eat (minimum 2 hours)

    Serve on buns with tomato slices and additional BBQ sauce as needed.
    Keep leftovers in sealed container or ziplock bag refrigerated for up to a week.

    This sounds really good. I love tofu. This would be good using teriyaki sauce too.
