Okay not camp specific food, but a fast and easy, family friendly recipe here for those that have kids that are ready to eat NOW... Ingredients. Prep ahead. 1 pack sesame seed hamburger buns. (Regular white bread is fine, just not as good IMHO). Toasted. 1 medium yellow onion diced. 2lbs lean ground beef drained. 2 cans Bean with Bacon soup. 1/2 cup Ketchup. Or mix in to taste. Will explain in a second... Sliced pickles, and tomatoes to taste. In a heated well seasoned cast iron skillet. Bring ground beef and onion to temp. (Onions are optional, I love them). Add 2 cans of bean with bacon soup. Add ketchup, squirt it in and mix in. The idea is to blend it all smooth together. I've never measured it. Serve up like sloppy joes, add pickles, and tomatoes to taste. Add your favorite vegetable side dish. Suggested side dishes. Elotes over the campfire. (Mexican street corn on the cob). Sauteed green beans in butter with bacon bits and pressed garlic.
