Mr. Clean magic eraser did the job.
Wow! Did you have to scrub very hard?
No, the eraser does the work.
I have used them on many things and believe there may be some magic in them.
I have no affiliation with Mr. Clean.
Does it do any damage to the canvas coating there?
That is an excellent question, does anyone know?
I'm hoping not.
I think mildew is the key reason mr clean is in such good shape those erasers eat it all up for him. They are soft and should do nothing to the material from my observations of using them all over
Found this information on the manufacturers information page.
It is the Aquashield Aqualon stuff used by Starcraft.
Aqualon can be cleaned with anything from mild soap and w ater to Clorox bleach.
All commercial utility or vinyl cleaners will also work. We recommend Apco
Vinyl Clean, available from your Starcraft dealer. Aqualon is mildew
resistant, but keep in mind, mildew grows on dirt and dampness. So
keep your tent assembly cleaned and dried before storing. If mildew
has developed because of dirt or moisture, it can be removed with Tilex,
X-14 or a diluted mixture of Clorox and water. Aqualon is colorfast and wont
fade or bleed. The color will not rub off.
I would imagine that whatever magical stuff is used in those erasers should be good. lol
Wow. Good to know. Thanks for looking that up.
Magic eraser works on just about everything! Along with my tent tops it restored the awning bag to like new condition. Works awesome on roofs too. I used it on my old Coleman, it took all the black marks from the abs front and rear panels, and totally cleaned up all the painted side panels. There's a heavy duty version that works great for things like this.
