Bought a used bonair tent trailer and have used it several times and all was well until we tried to set it up and the cables seem to be tangled around the crank driveshaft. Cannot find what it should look like. Any ideas out there??

If the four cables connect to one main cable (if that is what you have)the cables are usually should spin freely on the main cable.

Like a Jayco does. I am thinking 4 cables mounted to a plate that is connected to main cable in the middle. The plate has to be able to "float" so the lifting cables don't twist if the main cable does. Just saying.

I am posting a picture of the drive shaft on our 2003 Bon air tent trailer, which cranks the tent trailer up. Can anyone tell us what the purpose the part that is hanging from it is for ? View attachment 79824 View attachment 79826 94C5D18E-A0E8-4A80-8461-374FCF1DF4AE.jpeg 94C5D18E-A0E8-4A80-8461-374FCF1DF4AE.jpeg 56210B69-00AD-498D-BF67-FCC74C83FEB7.jpeg It somehow popped off and we cannot get it back on far enough to raise and lower the tent ,and put the round nut on again because it needs the length of the threaded shaft to move it.
The second picture shows it on the shaft, but we cannot get it on far enough as it is threaded, but it won’t go far enough to put the round nut on again. Or can anyone tell us how to get it back on properly.? Thanks!
