Rockwood HW277: Curious if this is OEM or a PO’s home brew. Anyone know what the real purpose of these three hole angle iron both forward and rear of the axle are for?? I was thinking a good strap hook point if I ever needed to secure to?
Maybe just for leaf springs (I have torsion)??

Hi. Yes they are OEM. I'm not 100% certain, but I have seen these used for moving the frame during construction. As well as tie down points for shipping. They are not for a suspension, unless they had a quick attach/self jigging system. Far to thin to support much. They could be made useful though.

I can see all kinds of uses for those! Mounts for ground effect lights! How cool it would be at night, for a gentle light underneath to help illuminate a few feet around the PUP. Or... storage maybe.

LOL no.... like people did way over 20 years ago... well before fast and furious! :p My cousin had a early 90's coleman PUP that had lights like that. Getting up to use the bathroom in the middle of the night or packing up early morning was much easier and the light didn't bother other campers! - V
