After over 10 years without a pop up we were finally in a position to hunt for one. Funnily enough we found the same make and model of our last pop-up we gave away in 2010. We just bought a ‘93 Coleman Destiny Roanoke. Has some cracks and some tears but otherwise in good shape. And we love the small size! Can’t wait to fix her up and gussy her up.
My husband and I moved to CA about 18 months ago and are excited to start camping California style! We are originally from St. Louis which is a different kind of camping. See every out there!

Welcome from Michigan! What area of St Louis are you from? I grew up in Webster Groves and went to school in Carbondale.

Grew up in the city of Skinner then lived in Webster after we got married. Love WG! Great place for kids.

Welcome. Unfortunately, California Camping Style is now "no overnight stays in campgrounds." It'll give you lots of time to get your PUP in perfect shape anyway.

Exactly that. We're spending the latest stay at home order getting to know our NTU pup too. Never-the-less, welcome to CA!

It is true that many California Campgrounds are closed. But there is plenty of space for Boondocking. Especially out here on the Mojave desert. I just got back from a week-long camping trip up above Bass lake in the Sierra mountains. There are many closed sites up there, but the whole area is rich with boondocking sites. You just find a wide spot in the trees and set up camp. On my last trip the campground at Grays Mountain was closed for the winter, but we camped there anyway. Nobody stopped us. We actually stayed in the Camp Host site. The toilets were all still open which made it even better. The only problem now is that it is winter, and there is a lot of snow up there.

Here is a link to my two videos I shot on that trip:
