My DW and I are thinking about a trip to Cape Cod in June, and are looking for campground suggestions.

    Mike,

The only one we've stayed at in recent years was Peter's Pond.

They are private. A very nice clean, but not cheap CG located in Sandwich, MA.

The only time we go to the Cape is in September as the water is still relatively warm and the crowds are not there.

We like Scussett State Beach Campground at the beginning of the Cape. Walk to the beach and the Cape Cod rail trail is right there. Has electric sites too.

We like Sweetwater Forest in Brewster, MA. www.sweetwaterforest.com It is a nice, big, clean, wooded private campground. It is quiet & well run. There is fishing & boating access, but nowhere on the campground to swim if that is a concern. The campground connects to some great hiking trails and Brewster is a charming Cape Cod town. Summer traffic is defintely a concern, so be sure to plan accordingly.

Thanks Queen Bee. I know what you mean about the traffic. I think we are going to try to go before schools let out for the summer, or after summer vacation. It depends on if I can wait that long. lol
