I need a place to camp near north vancouver.

I would prefer not to have to take a ferry anywhere as we are going to vancouver to visit my brother, and it will get very expensive if I need to pay fares!

    is squamish the closest place?

Camping at Squamish is pretty much just Alice Lake. Www.discovercamping.com
Porteau Cove is 1/2 way to Squamish and a stunning spot
Really hard to get into though. Booked out from June - September
There is a decent RV park right at Lions Gate Bridge. No wilderness though
