Rolled my 95 Starcraft 817 out, gave it a proper bath with Woolite/water and rinsed very thoroughly, parked in the direct sun for 4 hours. I sprayed generously with Iosso waterproofing (recommended by Starcraft, for Aqualon) until it was literally dripping on the ground, then wiped off excess with a sponge dipped in Iosso as well. 24 hours later, I spray a few spots with a water bottle, expecting it to bead up and roll off like a freshly waxed car, but it just soaked in.
Is this what I should expect? Can I retreat? The camper and canvas are VERY clean and in excellent condition, and has never leaked a drop. This was preventive maintenance......

FWIW, the Aqualon on my 1995 starcraft has never been waterproofed, and I've never had a problem with leakage except through holes in the roof.

What are you doing as far as cleaning/protecting from dirt, bird crap, etc.....?
Starcraft certainly did a good job making these things stay dry.

Since I have been using the reflective tarps my canvas has stayed pretty clean. I just clamp the tarps to the fence wash them off and fold them back up when dry. Camper canvas still looks new, just my opinion though.

Thank you all for the help and advice. I like the reflective tarp idea. Iosso says "Retreat it, if it is good, it will repel itself. If it soaks in, it wasnt treated well enough." Since I have a gallon of premix, I laid it on heavy one more time and regardless of the outcome, im considering it done. If nothing else, she sure looks nice now!

Yup , it's oil base so it should soak in even if it was treated before.

Update, and for future reference if anyone uses this product: after a second heavy application and dry time, shes golden! Water beads up and runs off like a duck's feathers! This stuff really soaks in, but you still need to lay it on til it runs on the ground, literally.
    Thanks again all.

She did mention that some actually roll it on with a paint roller, and also asked if I had the canvas off and was doing it on a horizontal surface. Um, thats not happening. Im just happy to know theres some extra protection now, from rain and for cleaning. Wonder if bird poop will bounce off now? LOL
