CarCovers.com Camper Cover

A bad day camping beats a good day at the office
I don't think I've seen this one mentioned here yet.

I have been looking for a cover to replace my 2013 Carver cover, which was awesome and lasted forever, but they got out of the business of making camper covers. I was disheartened to read many reviews (here and elsewhere) of other covers, saying things like "it lasted a year or two" or "it only had a few tears after the first season", as if that was a good thing.

I recently ran across CarCovers.com, and their camper covers. I bought this one:

Looking at reviews, these got very good marks. It's entirely different construction than my old cover, but seems VERY durable and waterproof (although it claims to still be breathable as well). The cover also has a lifetime replacement warranty, where you can get a free cover at any point in the future you deem this one unusable... even things like too much dirt on it!

The cover just came yesterday so I have no data on how long it will hold up, but I was very impressed by the construction. It came with a carrying bag, a generous supply of adhesive patch material (I hope that's not a bad omen lol), straps, and a few other extras. My only complaint so far is that the way they are packaged (they are vacuum-sealed into a bag) they come out very wrinkled. Not a huge deal for us since I keep the camper in a fenced-in area, but looks a little messy otherwise.

I'll keep folks posted, but this looks like a great option. If you do purchase, google "coupon codes" as I was able to get another $20 off the posted price just from doing that.

Thanks, tfischer, for posting this. I didn't know of this source, and it seems to be the best deal on a polyester cover. I just got one and it looks good. The Tyvek top of my old cover never wore out until hail hit it, but the polypropylene sides disintegrated in the sun long ago.

Here in the southern AZ sun, covers get destroyed quickly. I finally bought marine sunbrella, and sewed a cover. Best decision I made for the popup. It's amazing how that material sheds water, and then breathes when it dries out. It should be impervious to the unforgiving sun.

About a month in on this cover and it's only gotten better. My one complaint when it was new was it looked very wrinkled, but a few days out in the sun and most of them smoothed themselves out. Of course one month is not enough time to judge durability but I'm still very pleased with this cover so far.

CarCovers had mine sent in like 3 days. It came in a surprisingly small package and quite wrinkled (as I noted above) but the sun ironed those out very quickly. Still very impressed with this cover.

I know I sound like a commercial, but I get like that when I find a good product (I'll be quite the opposite if it doesn't last lol)

Wait until next summer. I bought the Gold Shield 5L last August & loved it until a storm shredded it. It lasted almost one year. Here is CarCovers.com reply.

Hello Dear Customer,

We have analyzed the situation and we have determined that you are entitled to a replacement cover. You are covered for a free replacement under the warranty conditions, the only thing you need to pay is a $95 shipping fee per cover

Please call 1-800-916-6041 #1 to pay the shipping fee.
Please note that the department is open from 7 am to 3 pm eastern time

The cover turned paper thin & tore like tissue. If you look hard enough you can find review sites that report the same thing & all the good reviews I also read are posted from China site farms. Buyer beware! 95.00 Shipping???

So what did he say? I would like to get a cover before winter and none that I see online show it covering a popup with an AC unit...
We actually have the same popup, although mine without the AC.

I'm looking for a replacement right now, but the old one had enough slack that would have covered an AC unit.

I just did a live chat with them and they responded in about 20 seconds on a Saturday afternoon. Answer was, "We take into account the AC unit, you just need to measure the length of the camper"

How is the cover holding up?

tlittle253 comment was very concerning about quality and $95 shipping fee for the "free warranty replacement"

I was out near the camper today and noticed some slight tears where the cover makes the 90 degree turn from the side to go over the top. This is disapointing. My Carver cover lasted over 8 years with no damage.

I'll try to tape it up, but I don't see this cover lasting more than a few years. This seems to be considered "normal" and "accepted" now as nobody makes a quality cover that will last anymore.

Bummer. They don't make anything good anymore. Everything is junk.
